Process or mechanical engineer for the design of the biogas plant of the future

Become part of a team of dedicated engineers and an independent company that advises, designs and dimensions the biogas plant of the future for customers worldwide.

Unique consulting company

Renew Energy is a consulting engineering company that offers independent advice to customers worldwide in the development and design of biogas plants.

With colleagues who have 30 years of experience and a base in a highly developed Danish biogas industry, we are an attractive business partner for both Danish and international customers who want to develop cost-effective and state -of-the-art solutions for biogas production as well as recirculation of nutrients and water. We typically act as a technical consultant to the client and provide process design, dimensioning and technical assistance in all project phases – from concept design to detailed engineering, commissioning and operational support for facilities.

We are a specialized process design company, but provide advice on and optimization of all process steps that are relevant in the material flows, in connection with the anaerobic process at modern biogas plants. This concerns, for example, the storage and pretreatment of biomass, purification, upgrading and pressurization of gas products, including CO2, as well as recirculation of the liquid, nutrient and carbon flow, either to the process or ultimately back to agriculture.

In Renew Energy, you will become part of an informal working environment with experienced colleagues in a dynamic and growing team that has both deep technical and commercial insight.

About the position

As an engineer at Renew Energy, you will be part of smaller project teams and work with the design of biogas and biorefinery plants. This involves iterative design process steps, which require structured communication, collaboration and constant reconciliation of expectations with colleagues and business partners.

  • Process concept selection of unit operations
  • Conceptual plant design with estimates of operating and investment costs.
  • Preparation of Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID)
  • 2D and 3D layouts in AutoCAD and 3D Plant
  • Dimensioning of pipe systems, ventilation systems and odor purification systems
  • Determination of machine components
  • Heat and energy calculations on heat exchangers, hot water systems etc
  • Preparation of technical tender material for components and installations
  • Project planning of electrical installations and control panels
  • Elaboration of function descriptions
  • Supervision at suppliers and on the construction site
  • “As Built ” documentation and final documentation

We are looking for several different profiles to expand our team, but basically expect you to have a background as either a process or mechanical engineer within the process industry, preferably from the bioenergy sector or related areas such as waste water, food production, oil & gas or similar. In addition, we expect you to have experience in:

  • Prepare PFD, P&ID and 2D and 3D layouts in AutoCAD or equivalent software
  • Work independently and structured
  • Participate in iterative design processes, with good communication skills in relation to cooperation with colleagues and business partners.
  • Work proactively in teamwork in relation to structures and ongoing reconciliation of expectations.
  • Be solution-oriented and have an eye for both the whole and details
