”Green Growth-delegation 2014” - Bangladesh

In May 2014, was Renew Energy invited by the Danish Embassy in Dhaka to participate in a partnership search program.

Bangladesh is an interesting market with great export potential for Danish cleantech products and know-how. The Bengali economy has seen steady growth of 6 per cent over the past decade while struggling with limited resources. Therefore, the demand for energy, cleantech, and clean water supply is significantly greater than the supply.

The delegation focused on energy, cleantech, water, and waste management, and the interest in Renew Energy’s solutions was overwhelming.

With a population of 160 million people and a growing middle class of 20 million people, increasing quantities of waste is a huge challenge to the country. Biogas technology can be the solution to the organic waste. Biogas plants can utilize the organic waste for the production of energy, that will help to cover the increasing demand, and for the production of fertilizers, that can be sold to the agricultural sector.
